1973 HARLEY DAVIDSON FLH ELECTRA GLIDE
RESTORATION JUST COMPLETED - NUMBERS MATCHING BIKE
Bike had been in storage in heated garage under several layers of covers from 1995 until March of this YEAR,
Original owner made some modifications over past 38 years. Bike has electronic ignition, S&S Super B Carberator, FORWARD FOOT CONTROLS CONTROLS, A Chrome Horseshoe Oil Tank. He also installed Mustang 2 up touring
saddle and chrome rear shocks. Cylinder Jugs were powder coated black which you can see from pictures if you look closely. Oil Lines are all Braided Lines with red anodized fittings. Brake Lines are braided as well. Belt drive primary was added just before bike was put in storage and is in like new condition.
The original Black paint was freshened with red scalloping the year before the bike was stored. Paint is presentable, but not perfect, it has some crazing on right side tank near gas inlet from spilled gas. Paint on fenders very nice with some minors chips you have to look for. IT also HAS CHROME RACING TRANSMISSION,
1st and 2nd are very low, 3rd and 4th are very high, you don't shift into 4th until reaching nearly 50 mph. Transmission had been rebuilt when primary was switched to belt drive the year before it was put in storage. Engine Block is original FL STYLE 1200 BLOCK with modifications that include Oversize pistons, rings, electronic ignitiion, newer style voltage regulator and oil filter set up.
Like most 1973 Electra Glide bikes, this bike has kick start and electric starter, the electric starter was replaced during restoration.
While bike was in storage it was sitting on 2 moving blankets under tires and frame area and covered with a pile of moving blankets and quilts.
I removed it from storage in March after my friend was diagnosed with cancer, I was originally going to restore it for him, but he decided he wanted me to have it to restore properly and to give sombody else the opportunity to own and enjoy it.

Bike starts very easy and Runs very strong. I've ridden it about 1500 miles this summer to work out the bugs and make all necessary adjustments.
The speedometer and odometer work well, the speedometer light works, original owner told me that it is original odometer and has never been changed or set back. When I purchased bike it had 1996 inspection sticker that showed 9,400 miles when it was last inspected in 1995 before it as put into storage.
The bike has no turn signals now and never did have any, they were not required when this bike was built. I purchased a set of bullet lights to install, but decided to leave it the way it is because the stock look is more attractive to me.
This bike sits low and handles well. It has a lot of power and doesn't smoke or leak since many seals and gaskets have been replaced. It has drag style pipes. Great for showing or cruising to local bike night. ANY QUESTIONS YOU CAN E-MAIL jbennett83@yahoo.com or call 607-765-6341.
The reason I'm selling? Restoration is complete and it is time for somebody else to enjoy it. My enjoyment comes from the restoration process.
