HOLD ON! This 1200 is amazingly fast. With an aggressive clutch the bike jolts forward and wants to go all the time. One of the fastest 1200s I have ridden in years. The paint on the bike is, lets call it less than perfect. The tank has taken a light beating with a small dent and a larger crease. Ideal to send it out for repair but then the rest of the tins do not match up with the new looking tank so get it all painted or leave it the “rat ride” it is. Of course you can also wrap it, like the oil and battery covers are. This bike makes no excuses and will blow the doors off many others. The battery cover needs a new clip to hold it in place, just small stuff all around. There is a chrome part zip tied to the rear sissy that comes with the bike, I cannot figure out where that supposedly belongs to. Maybe you can.

A fun ride for any Harley guy. Not ideal for a new rider. Lots of power and the clutch is set for an experienced rider.

The Sportster has been the most recognized small Harley even though it really is a rather heavy bike for what is considered “Entry Level”. Not surprising some Harley riders with bigger bikes add a Sportster to their own garage for the quick run-around trip without bringing out the “big gun”. It is heavy enough to ride solid yet agile enough to just fling it around. Loved by shorter and female riders for its easy handling and loved by big guys for the power/weight ratio.

The Sportster is offered in two power units. The traditional 883 engine and the 1200 engine. Both are equally interesting bikes with tons of options by aftermarket manufacturers to customize this bike from head to toe for small money.
